Widow Maria Elisabeth Stando, a farmer, settled in the Volga German colony of Messer on 18 June 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 26.

The 1767 census records that Maria Elisabeth Stando came from the German district of Brandenburg.

There are no known surviving male descendants of this family and the surname Stando does not continue among the Volga German colonies.
