Nikolai Stanow, a soldier (Soldat), and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Husaren on 20 April 1767. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 30 along with his wife Aksinia and son Zachar (age 18).

The 1767 census records that Nikolai Stanow came from the village of Konstantinopol in Turkey.
