Widow Maria Staufer settled in the Volga German colony of Reinwald on 14 July 1766. She is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 16 living with the family of Jakob Zittel, her brother-in-law.
There do not appear to be any surviving male descendants of the Staufer family, so this surname does not continue among the Volga German colonies.
