Johann Steuernagel [sic], a farmer, his wife Katharina, and children (Johann, age 16; Konrad, age 13; Anna Maria, age 10¼; Johann, age 6) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 29 July 1766 aboard a ship named Apollo under the command of Skipper Friedrich Detloff Mörenberg.
Johannes Steinagel (age 57), a farmer, his [new] wife Anna Maria (age 28), and daughter Anna Maria (age 10) are recorded on the 1767 census of Müller in Household No. 27. They had arrived in Müller on 16 August 1767.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Steuernagel [sic] came from the German region of Darmstadt. The 1767 census records that Johannes Steinagel came from the German village of Nieder Beerbach in the Darmstadt region.
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
