Discussion & Documentation:

Frantz Steinkohl and Maria Theresia Bürckbürkel married on 17 September 1765 in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lübeck.

Franz Steinkuhl, a bookbinder (Buchbinder), and his wife Maria Theresia settled in the Volga German colony of Kratzke on 8 May 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 45.

The 1767 census records that Franz Steinkuhl came from the region of Bern.

There do not appear to be any surviving male descendants of this family among the Volga German colonies.
