Discussion & Documentation:

Georg Stenaben, a craftsman (Handwerker), settled in the Volga German colony of Enders on 27 July 1765. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 29 along with this wife Anna Maria, the widow of Andreas Beitnitz, and her sons (Hans Peter Beitnitz, age 17; Hans Peter [sic] Beitnitz, age 7). Another assumed stepson, Hans Christian Beitnitz, is recorded in Household No. 30.

The 1767 census records that Georg Stenaben came from the German village of Dahlenberg in Prussia while the Belzig family came from the German village of Schleswig in the Holstein region.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
