Heinrich Ludwig [sic] Stehlfeld [sic] and his wife Elisabeth are recorded on the 1767 census of Holstein in Household No. 8. They had settled in Holstein on 26 May 1765.

Heinrich Gottlieb [sic] Stenfeld [sic] and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Holstein in Household No. Ho11 along with a note that his son Friedrich Wilhelm is working in the colony of Galka.

When Heinrich & David Steinfeld immigrated to the United States, they were living in the colony of Stephan.

The 1767 census records that Heinrich Ludwig Stehlfeld came from the German region of Braunschweig.
