Strack (Cäsarsfeld)

Johannes Strack, son of Johann Ebert Strack (died 1745) &  Anna Elisabeth Neul (died 1765), was born in Bonbaden on 18 April 1733 [other documents record his name as Johann Peter and birthdate as 13 August 1730]. He married in Bonbaden to Anna Elisabetha Maria Strack, daughter of Johannes Strack (died 1758) & Margaretha Elisabetha Dützel (died 1761), on 16 October 1761. She was also born in Bonbaden on 25 February 1733.

The birth of two of their children are recorded in Bonbaden: (1) Johann Jörg, born 23 November 1762; and (2) Anna Maria, born 18 October 1765. Johannes Strack also has an illegitimate daughter: Susanna Margaretha, born 28 October 1760 in Bonbaden.

Susanna Strack, sister of the above mentioned Anna Elisabetha Maria Strack, was born 17 July 1735 in Bonbaden. She married in Bonbaden to Johann Jost Wacker on 26 February 1762. The births of no children of this couple have been located in Bonbaden.

It is believed that Anna Elisabeth Maria Strack died as did Johann Jost Wacker.

Johannes Strack, his wife Susanna [believed to be his 1st wife's sister; widow of Johann Jost Wacker], and daughter [Sus]Anna (age 6) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Hans Karholm.

Johannes Strack, his wife Elisabeth, and daughter Susanna (age 6) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that mother Elisabeth and daughter Susanna died en route.

Johannes Strack, a farmer, and his wife [Sus]Anna settled in the Volga German colony of Cäsarsfeld on 3 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 5.

Widower Johannes Strack from Cäsarsfeld is recorded on the 1798 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. Ka063.

The 1767 census records that Johannes Strack came from the German village of Bonbaden.
