Heinrich Stitz, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Anna, age 8; Philipp, age 7; Friedrich, age 3) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 June 1766 aboard an English barque named George under the command of Skipper Adam Bairnsfair.
Heinrich Smitz [sic], his wife Anna Maria, and children (Anna Elisabet, age 8; Joh. Heinrich, age 3) are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that both children died in route.
Heinrich Stitz, a farmer, and his wife Maria settled in the Volga German colony of Paulskaya on 7 June 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 40.
The 1767 census records that Heinrich Stitz came from the German village of Wepblank [?].
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
