Johann Christian Sollbach, a farmer, his wife Anna, and son Johann Jakob (age 1¼) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 7 May 1766 aboard the galliot named Anna Katharina under the command of Skipper Daniel Heyer.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Ober-Monjou on 5 March 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 5 along with orphan Elisabeth Kirchturm. The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Sollbach and Kirchturm families.
Christian Sulzbach, son of the deceased Christian Sulzbach, and his sister Maria Elisabeth are recorded on the 1798 census of Ober-Monjou in Household No. Om42 along with a note that Christian is working in Mariental.
Christian Sulzbach and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Mariental in Household No. 63.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Christian Sulzbach came from the German region of the Wetterau. The 1767 census records that Christian Sollbach came from the German village of Oppertshofen.
