Wilhelm Tegemann, a tailor (Schneider), his wife Andrianna, and children (Andrianna, age 19; Wilhelm, age 12; Cornelius, age 9; Theodora, age 7) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 7 May 1766 aboard the galliot named Anna Katharina under the command of Skipper Daniel Heyer.
Wilhelm Tegemann, a tailor (Schneider), his wife Andrianna, and son Wilhelm (age 13) are recorded on the 1767 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 51. They had arrived in Katharinenstadt on 5 March 1767.
Wilhelm Tegemann [junior] (age 22), son of Wilhelm Tegemann, and his wife Johanna Christina (age 16) are recorded on the 1776 Katharinenstadt Grundbuch [Land Register] in Household No. 179 along with a note that they have been in Saratov since 1773. Another note records that they had a son named Jakob who was born in 1776.
In 1785, Jakob Tegemann and his family left Katharinenstadt.
The Oranienbaum Passenger list records that Wilhelm Tegemann came from the German region of Westfalen. The 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Recklinghausen in the Köln region. The 1776 Katharinenstadt Land Register records that Wilhelm Tegemann [junior] was born in Amsterdam.
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
