There are two Tempel families that settled in the Volga German colony of Kraft on 18 August 1767.
(1) Johann Georg Tempel, a miller (Müller), and his wife Anna Dorothea arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 8 August 1766 aboard the pink Cargo under the command of Lieutenant Moses Davydov.
They are recorded on the 1767 census of Kraft in Household No. 48.
The 1767 census records that Georg Tempel came from the German village of Umstand in the Pfalz region.
(2) Valentin Tempel, a miller (Müller), and his wife Rosina Dorothea arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 August 1766 aboard the pink Novaya Dvinka under the command of Lieutenant Perepechin.
They are recorded on the 1767 census of Kraft in Household No. 58.
The 1767 census records that Valentin Temple came from the German village of Umstadt in the Darmstadt region.
