Martin Teschke, a farmer, and his wife Katharina settled in the Volga German colony of Rosenheim on 27 July 1765. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 33 along with their 3-week-old daughter Eva Maria.

In 1786, Martin Teschke moved from Rosenheim to the Caucasus.

The 1767 census records that Martin Teschke came from the village of Filehne in Poland.
