Nikolaus Trapp, a farmer, his wife Dorothea, and daughters (Dorothea, age 12; Anna, age 8; Margaretha, age 5¼) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a barque named Fortitudo (Fortitude) under the command of Skipper John Scott.
Nikolaus died and his widow Dorothea remarried to Christoph Liphardt with whom she had arrived in Oranienbaum.
Siblings Dorothea [Trapp] (age 14) and Anna [Trapp] (age 9) are recorded on the 1767 census of Walter in Household No. 13 along with their mother and step-father Christoph Limpert.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Nikolaus Trapp came from the German region of Erfurt.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Trapp family among the Volga German colonies.
