Two Unkelbach women are recorded on the 1767 census of the Volga German colony of Göbel:
(1) Gertrude Unkelbach, wife of Martin Veit, and
(2) Elisabeth Unkelbach, wife of Michael Wunderlich.
Arriving with them from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 was Johann Unkelbach, a farmer, his wife Katharina, and daughter Maria (age 8). Johann Unkelbach and his family do not appear to have survived to settled in the Volga German colonies. The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Unkelbach came from the German region of Hanau.
A relationship among these Unkelbach individuals is recorded on neither the Oranienbaum passenger list nor the 1767 census.
