Johannes Völker, the single servant of Peter Schenk, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

He settled in the Volga German colony of Galka on 27 July 1767 where he is recorded on the 1767 census in Household No. 56 along with his new wife Anna Dorothea.

The 1767 census records that Johannes Völker came from the German village of Glauberg near Stolberg.
