Discussion & Documentation

Peter von Berg was born in approximately 1787. He served in Napoleon's army and fought against the Russians. He was captured by the Russians, and in 1812, was settled in the Volga German colony of Warenburg. He is recorded there on the 1834 Census of Warenburg in Household No. 216 along with a note that he relocated to the colony of Moor. However, he does not appear on the 1834 census of Moor.

The list of soldiers records the surname as "von dem Berg."
