Discussion & Documentation

Karl Friedrich Ferdinand von Britzki (age 38), a Prussian soldier, and his wife Katharina Elisabeth née von Thimon (age 37) are recorded on the 1776 Katharinenstadt Grundbuch [Land Register] in Household No. 159 along with a note that they had gone to Moscow in 1776.

The 1776 Katharinenstadt Land Register records that Karl Friedrich Ferdinand von Britzki came from the German village of Knoblauch in the region of Bauch-Göbel and that his wife came from Magdeburg.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
