August[in] Wahl, a farmer, his wife Eva, and children (Anna, age 6; Johann, age 4) arrived from Reval [Estonia] at the port of Oranienbaum on 30 May 1766 aboard the pink Novaya Dvinka under the command of Lieutenant Ivan Perepechin.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Göbel on 25 May 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 32.

The 1767 census records that Augustin Wahl came from the German village of Soden in the Kurpfalz region.
