Sebastian Walkenbach and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the Die Neue Freiheit von Bremen under the command of Skipper Steingrawer.
The settled in the Volga German colony of Preuss on 15 July 1767 where they are recorded on the 1767 census in Household No. 71.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Sebastian Walkenbach was a miller while the 1767 census records that he was a farmer.
The 1767 census records that Sebastian Walkenbach came from the German village of Oberbrechen in the Kurtrier.
