Georg Walter, a blacksmith, his wife Charlotta, and son Valentin (age 14) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
Georg Walter, his wife Charlotta, and son Valentin (age 16½) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Ober-Monjou on 7 June 1767 where widow Charlotta is recorded on the 1767 census in Household No. 94.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Georg Walter came from the German region of Bayern while the 1767 census records that Charlotta came from the German village of Koßwig.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Walter family among the Volga German colonies.
