Johannes Waltz, stepbrother of Adam Huber (who settled in the neighboring Volga German colony of Dobrinka), immigrated to Denmark (Schleswig-Holstein) arriving in the city of Schleswig on 4 July 1761. He is last recorded in Denmark on 22 April 1765.
He joined the migration to Russia settling in the Volga German colony of Galka on 12 April 1766. He and his family are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 40.
The 1767 census records that Johannes Waltz came from the German village of Viersen in the region of Baden-Durlach.
