Discussion & Documentation:

Johann Heinrich Weber, son of Hans Christian & Anna Appolonia Weber, was baptized 15 February 1715 in Büches. He married 22 February 1741 in Büches to Anna Margaretha Volckers, daughter of Matthaus & Anna Catharina Volckers. She had been born 29 December 1724 in Leutstadt near Büdingen.

The baptisms of several children of Johann Heinrich Weber & Anna Catharina Volckers are recorded in the parish register of Büches: (1) Anna Margaretha, baptized 27 December 1742; (2) Anna Maria, baptized 26 December 1753; (3) Ludwig Carl, baptized 8 October 1755; and (4) Elisabeth, baptized 27 November 1763.

Johann Heinrich Weber, a farmer, his wife Anna [Margaretha], and children (Anna, age 23; Eleonora, age 20; Anna Maria, age 15; [Karl] Ludwig, age 12) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig named Christina under the command of Skipper Jacob Stappenberg.

Widow Anna Margaretha and the children (Anna Margaretha, age 23; Anna Maria, age 17; Ludwig Karl, age 15) are recorded on the 1767 census of Balzer in Household No. 98. They had settled in Balzer on 8 August 1767.

Daughter Eleonora is recorded on the 1767 census of Balzer in Household No. 92 as the wife of Konrad Heil. [See Heil Family.]

Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that this Weber family came from the German region of Isenburg.
