Discussion & Documentation

Christian Weber, a papermaker (Papiermacher), and his wife Margaretha settled in the Volga German colony of Ober-Monjou on 23 July 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 48 along with stepdaughter Gertrude Krück (age 12) and orphan Katharina Stuppert (age 16). The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Weber and Stuppert families.

In 1797, Johann Joseph Weber moved from Ober-Monjou to Herzog. Johann Weber from Ober-Monjou and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Herzog in Household No. Hr14.

The 1767 census records that Christian Weber came from the German village of Rabachan [?].
