Peter Weiss, a farmer, and his wife Maria Eva Wolf settled in the Volga German colony of Hildmann on 20 June 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 15.

Eva, the widow of Peter Weiss, and their children are recorded on the 1798 census of Hildmann in Household No. Hd11.

In 1796, Peter Weiss (junior) moved from Hildmann to Preuss. Peter Weiss from Leichtling [sic] is recorded on the 1798 census of Preuss in Household No. Ps44.

Peter Weiss and his son Johannes are recorded on the 1811 census of Preuss in Household No. 44.

Peter Weiss and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Preuss in Household No. 39.

The death of Peter Weiss in 1847 is recorded on the 1850 census of Preuss in Household No. 47.

Johannes Preuss, the son of Peter Weiss, and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Preuss in Household No. 55.

The 1767 census records that Peter Weiss came from the French village of Finstreng [?].
