Adam Wentzel, a farmer from the area of Darmstadt, & Anna Catharina Köhler, who was born in the Pfalz, were married on 17 July 1766 in Pastor Möllraht's house in Lübeck. The marriage is recorded in the parish register of St. Jacob's Lutheran Church in Lübeck.
This may be the same Adam Wenzel, a farmer, who is recorded with his wife Katharina, and children (Heinrich, age 19; Johannes, age 17½; Anna, age 10; Helwig, age 8) arriving from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 29 July 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper John Scott.
Adam Weitzel [sic], his wife Catarina, and children (Johann Heinrich, age 19; Johannes, age 17½; Anna Maria, age 10¼; Helwig, age 8) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Kraft on 18 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 64.
The 1767 census records that Adam Wenzel came from the German village of Amt Breitenbach in the Darmstadt region.
