Kaspar Wenzele, a farmer, settled in the Volga German colony of Mariental on 20 September 1767. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 91. The 1767 census records that Kaspar Wenzele came from the German village of Poduch in the Kurmainz region.
