Discussion & Documentation

Georg Jakob Nestlauler [sic], a farmer, his wife Anna, and daughters (Anna, age 18; Magdalena, age 15¼; Margaretha, age ¼) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 16 May 1766 aboard the Russian galliot named Katharina Eleonora under the command of Skipper Peter Rehder.

Magdalena Weslauer (age 19) and her [new] husband Johann Georg Gottfried (age 20) are recorded on the 1767 census of Hildmann in Household No. 8. They had arrived in Hildmann on 14 May 1767.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Georg Jakob Nestlauler came from the German region of Pfalz.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Weslauer family among the Volga German colonies.
