Friedrich Westfal, a painter (Maler), his wife Anna Maria, and his stepson Martin (surname not recorded) settled in the Volga German colony of Kratzke on 7 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 2.
The 1767 census records that Friedrich Westfal came from the German village of Ruppin in the Brandenburg region.
This surname does not appear to continue among the Volga German colonies.
