Johann Joachim Wiegener, a blacksmith (Schmied), and his wife Anna Christina settled in the Volga German colony of Warenburg on 12 May 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 151.

The 1767 census records that Johann Joachim Wiegener came from the German region of Magdeburg.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
