Johannes Winter, son of Paul & Anna Elisabetha Winter, was born 1 August 1730 in Nauheim.
Johannes Winter married on 11 February 1755 in Nauheim to Anna Catharina Becker, daughter of Johannes Becker.
The baptisms of the following children born to Johannes Winter & Anna Catharina Becker are recorded in the parish register of Nauheim: (1) Georg, baptized 18? February 1757; and (2) Georg Philipp, baptized in January 1761.
Johann[es] Winter, his wife Anna, and their children (Georg, age 10¼; Philipp, age 7; Johann, age 3) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 June 1766 aboard the ship Die Jungfer Friederika under the command of Skipper Hans Christian Korsholm.
Anna died, and Johannes remarried Eva, the widow of Wilhelm Wollmann.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Straub on 12 July 1767. Eva died in Straub on 27 October 1767. The remaining members of the Winter and Wollmann families are recorded on the 1767 census in Household No. 52.
The 1767 census records that Johannes Winter came from the German village of Nauheim in the Nassau-Usingen region.
