Wogau

Georg Reichelt, a barber (Friseur), his wife Sophia Magdalena, and stepchildren ([a] Sophia Dorothea [Wogau], age 16; [b] Sigmund [Wogau], age 13; [c] Christina Dorothea [Wogau], age 11; [d] Karl Friedrich [Wogau], age 9) are recorded on the 1767 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 11. They had arrived in Katharinenstadt on 27 August 1766. [See Reichelt Family.]

Georg Reichelt, his wife Magdalena Sophia née Lang (widow Wogau), and stepchildren (Siegmund Wogau, age 22 & his wife Eleonora née Roth, age 21; Christina Dorothea, age 21; Karl Friedrich, age 16) are recorded on the 1776 Katharinenstadt Grundbuch [Land Register] in Household No. 11. The Land Register records that Georg Reichelt died in 1782 and his wife died in 1783.

[a] Sophia Dorothea Wogau is recorded on the 1776 Katharinenstadt Grundbuch [Land Register] in Household No. 9 as the wife of Blassius Faller. [See Faller Family.]

Sophia Faller née Wogau and her family are recorded on the 1798 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. Ka008.

[b] A note on the Land Register records the birth of a son Georg (born 24 August 1778) to Siegmund & Eleonora Wogau. 

Widow Eleonora Wogau née Roth [widow of Sigmund] and her children are recorded on the 1798 census of Katharinenstadt in Household Ka005.

[c] A note on the 1776 Land Register records that Georg Reichelt's stepdaughter Christina Dorothea Wogau married in 1776 to Karl Köhler. [See Köhler Family.]

Christina Dorothea Köhler née Wogau and her family are recorded on the 1798 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. Ka085.

[d] The Movement Tables of the 1798 census of Katharinenstadt record that in 1798 Karl Friedrich Wogau left Katharinenstadt for an unidentified location.

The 1767 census records that Sigmund Wogau (age 13) came from the German village of Warenburg in Kloster Leichtstädte (?).

[Georg Reichelt was from Bullenheim, but the Wogau family does not appear there.]
