Karl Zeisel and his family joined the migration to Russia. They settled in the Volga German colony of Kamenka on 1 March 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in household No. 28.

The Eichhorns record that Karl Zeisel came from the German village of "Schwetzingen, Oberamt Heidelberg, Kurpfalz" or from "Falkenstein." The Oranienbaum passenger list records that he came from the German region of the Pfalz. The 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Neustadt bei Heide [?].
