Zeisel
Karl Zeisel, carpenter (Zimmermann), immigrated to Denmark (Schleswig-Holstein) arriving in Fridericia on 1 May 1760 with his wife and 3 children. They are last recorded among the Danish colonies on 31 December 1764.
Karl Zeisel and his family joined the migration to Russia. Karl, his wife Margaretha, and children (Marianna, age 16½; Joseph, age 8; Susanna, age 6; Anna, age 4; Martin, age 2½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 20 May 1766 aboard the Russian galliot Katharina Eleonora under the command of Skipper Peter Röder.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Kamenka on 1 March 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in household No. 28.
The Eichhorns record that Karl Zeisel came from the German village of "Schwetzingen, Oberamt Heidelberg, Kurpfalz" or from "Falkenstein." The Oranienbaum passenger list records that he came from the German region of the Pfalz. The 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Neustadt bei Heide [?].
