Discussion & Documentation

Widow Barbara Ziegler settled in the Volga German colony of Göbel on 20 June 1767. She is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 31 along with her daughter Magdalena and son-in-law Johannes Haberkorn.

The 1767 census does not record from where Barbara Ziegler came.

There is a Mar. Magd. Ziegler from Miltenberg recorded as the godmother of Maria Magdalena Holzmeister who was baptized 19 April 1766 in Büdingen.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Ziegler family among the Volga German colonies.
