Andreas Ziegler, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 13 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Johann Grapp.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Köhler on 21 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 14.

In 1788, Peter Franz Ziegler moved from Köhler to Hildmann.

In 1792, Christoph Ziegler moved from Köhler to Hildmann.

Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Andreas Ziegler came from the German region of Fulda.
