Andreas Ziegler, a farmer, his wife Katharina, and son Peter (age 5½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 16 August 1766 aboard a snow-brig named Neptunus (Neptune) under the command of Skipper Johann Graap.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Köhler on 21 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 14.
In 1788, Peter Franz Ziegler moved from Köhler to Hildmann.
In 1792, Christoph Ziegler moved from Köhler to Hildmann.
Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Andreas Ziegler came from the German region of Fulda.
