Valentin Ziegler, a farmer, and his wife Margaretha arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 13 September 1766 aboard the hooker Die Jungfer Dietrika under the command of Skipper Christian Korsholm.
Phalentin Zigler [sic] and his wife Catrina [sic] are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Valentin Ziegler, a farmer, and his wife Margaretha are recorded on the 1767 census of Pfeifer in Household No. 100. They had settled in Pfeifer on 22 August 1767.
In 1790, Valentin Ziegler moved from Pfeifer to Göbel.
The 1767 census records that Valentin Ziegler came from the German village of Arnstein in the Würzburg region.
