Zindel
Lorenz Zindel and his wife Anna arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
They are recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Kaneau (No. 10). They settled in the Volga German colony of Basel and are recorded there on the 1798 census in Household No. Bs16.
The death of Lorenz Zindel is recorded in 1818 on the 1834 census of Basel in Household No. 24.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Lorenz Zindel was a cobbler from the German region of Isenburg. The 1767 census records that he was a farmer from the German village of Offenbach in the Isenburg region.
