Heinrich Zitzer, a joiner (Tischler), and his wife Elisabeth arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 2 August 1766 aboard an English frigate named Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
Joh. Heinr. Zitzer, his wife Elisabeth, and daughter Maria Elisabet (age 4-weeks) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that newborn Maria Elisabet died in route.
Heinrich Zitzer, his wife Elisabeth, and children (Johannes, age 8; Barbara, age 5; Heinrich, age 2) are recorded on the 1776 Katharinenstadt Grundbuch [Land Register] in Household No. 59 along with a note about the birth of an additional son Ulrich on 10 May 1780.
Heinrich Zitzer and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. Ka064.
The descendants of his three sons are recorded on the 1834 census of Katharinenstadt in Households No. 95, 103, 243, & 286.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Heinrich Zitzer was a joiner from the German region of Nassau. The 1776 Katharinenstadt Land Register records that Heinrich Zitzer came from the German village of Usingen in the region of Nassau.
