VGI Updates

Edgar Gross, son of Jakob Gross, was born in 1894 in Katharinenstadt.  His father was an accountant for the Schäfer Brothers Plant in Katharinenstadt.

Valentin Hartwig, son of Andreas Hartwig, was born in 1894 in an unknown Volga German colony.

In January 1920, he was elected chairman of the Union of Soviet Workers and a member of the presidium of the regional council of trade unions. From May 1920 to February 1921, he served as chairman of the trade unions. From February-September 1921, he served as Deputy Chairman of the Regional Council of the National Economy.

Alexander Mohr, son of Friedrich Mohr, was born on 6 January 1889 in the Volga German daughter colony of Friedenberg.  He was a Communist Party leader, and served from 24 October 1918 to 10 November 1922 on the Executive Committee of the Province of the Volga German Labor Commune, serving from February 1921 to 10 November 1922 as its chairman.
