Pferdsbach, Kr. Wetterau, Hessen
So many inhabitants left the village of Pferdsbach, first for Russia and then for North America (mostly to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania), that the village was abandoned in 1847.
Today, there is only a cemetery and a memorial to remind us that there was once a village of Pferdsbach.

Pfirschbach, Kr. Odenwald, Hessen
The first mention of the village of Pfirschbach dates from 1314 when it was called Phirdisbache. It belonged to the estate of Breuberg until it became part of the Grand Duchy of Hesse in 1806.
Since 1971, Pfirschbach has been administratively part of the municipality of Höchst im Odenwald.

The village of Pfirschbach is part of the parish of Höchst which also includes the neighboring villages of Annelsbach and Dusenbach.
