VGI Updates

The village of Pavlovka (since 2010: Yerkinshilik) was founded in 1899 by German settlers from the Volga region.

In 1989, the village population was 4,373 of which 59% were ethnically German.

Akzkar (before 1993: Stepnoye) was founded in 1911 by German settlers from the Volga Region.

Zhangyskuduk was founded in 1895 by German settlers from the Volga Region.

The village was founded in 1905 by German settlers from the Volga region under the name Kronidovskoye. Today it is called Batpakty.

Pemki, located just north of Peremenovka, was founded in 1900 by Volga German settlers from the colony of Marienburg.

Until 1917, the Catholic parishners there were served by the church in Peremenovka which was part of the Uspensky Volost of the Zmeinogorsk District of the Tomsk Province.

The village of Marienburg (now called Peremenovka) was founded in 1898 by German settlers from the Volga Region and the Berezan colonies of the Odessa Region. It was named after the Volga German colony of Marienburg.

Until 1917, the Catholic parish there was part of the Uspensky Volost of the Zmeinogorsk District of the Tomsk Province.

Novouzenka was founded in 1903 by Volga Germans. It was named after the Novouzensk District in the Saratov Province.

Prekrasnoye was founded in 1909 by Volga German families.

Rozhdestvenka (after 2001: Kabanbay Batyr) was founded in 1895 by Volga Germans and Germans from the North Caucasus.

This village was also known by its German name of Friedensfeld.

Population
