Pastor Friedrich Wilhelm Schmieder, son of Pastor Georg Schmieder, was born in Daubitz in Saxony.
He began his study of theology at the seminary in Leipzig on 21 May 1785. He was ordained 8 July 1808 in Moscow and served as pastor of the congregation in Galka from 1808 to 1825.
Pastor Schmieder married in Moscow on 20 July 1807 to Friederike Wilhelmine Sophie Richter, daughter of the supervising hunter Friedrich Richter and adopted daughter of the merchant Christoph August Glöckner.
Daubitz is located along the border of Germany and Poland. Today, it is administratively part of the municipality of Rietschen.
