Georg Jakob "Jakob" Dietz, son of Johann Georg Dietz & Maria Elisabeth Kindsvater, was born in 1864 in Kratzke.
He was educated as a lawyer and on 14 April 1906 was elected as a member of the 1st State Duma from the Saratov Province. On 10 July 1906, he joined a group of deputies who signed the Vyborg Manifesto which called upon the Russian citizenry to protest the dissolution of the Duma by stopping payment of taxes and refusing to serve in the Russian military. For this action, he was sentenced to 3 months imprisonment, but under pressure from the public, he was released.
He settled in the Russian village of Danilovka near Müller where he wrote a book entitled "The History of the Volga German Colonists." He was still working on this manuscript when he died in Saratov in August 1917.
