Paul Geis, son of Duane Geis & Lois Blakey, was born 23 February 1953 in Houston, Texas. He was a long-distance runner and member of the University Oregon 1974 NCAA Champion Cross Country Team.

He was a member of the U.S. Team participating in the 1976 Montreal Olympics. He qualified for the finals and placed 12th in the in the 5,000 meters.

Following a career in finance in Oregon, Mr. Geis retired back to Texas. He died 30 October 2019 in Houston.

His Volga German ancestors came from the colony of Neu-Messer.
