Johann Georg Büchner was born in 1743. He was living in Schafheim at the time that he married on 6 March 1764 in Ober-Ramstadt to Dorothea Sophia Kuhlmann, daughter of Johann Andreas Kuhlmann & Susanna Maria Lämmermann. Dorothea Sophia had been born in Ober-Ramstadt on 7 November 1743.
Georg Büchner, a farmer, his wife Dorothea, and son Johann (age 1½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 11 June 1766 aboard a snow-brig named Der Jäger (The Hunter) under the command of Skipper Gabriel Will.
Johann Büchner is recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Johann Georg Büchner (age 26), a farmer, his wife Dorothea Sophia (age 24) and children (Johann, age 4; Katharina, age 1) are recorded on the 1767 census of Laub in Household No. 3. They had arrived in Laub on 12 July 1767.
On the 1798 census of Laub, their children are living in Households No. Lb05 and Lb41.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Georg Büchner came from the German region of Darmstadt. The 1767 census records that Johann Georg Büchner came from the German village of Ober-Ramstadt in the Darmstadt region.
