Johann Lingelbach, son of Heinrich Lingelbach, was born 29 June 1747 in Grünberg, just east of Giessen. His godfather was Johannes Lingelbach.
Johannes Lingelbach, a carpenter, and his wife Katharina arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 7 May 1766 aboard the galliot named Anna Katharina under the command of Skipper Daniel Heyer. Arriving with them was Anna Lingelbach, a single woman. Her relationship to Johannes Lingelbach, if any, is not recorded.
Johann Lingelbach and his wife Elisabeth are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Johann Lingelbach, a carpenter (Zimmermann), and his wife Katharina are recorded on the 1767 census of Orlovskaya in Household No. 46. They had settled in Orlovskaya on 7 June 1767.
He above noted Anna Lingelbach is recorded as Hanna Lingelbach on the 1776 Katharinenstadt Family List and is identified as the mother-in-law of Valentin Eichler in Household No. 12.
In 1794, they moved to Ober-Monjou and are recorded there on the 1798 Census in Household No. Om33 along with a note that he is working in Katharinenstadt.
Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Johann[es] Lingelbach came from the German village of Grünberg. The 1776 Katharinenstadt Family List records that Hanna Lingelbach came from the German village of Grünberg in the Hessen-Darmstadt region.
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
