Christoph Trin was born on 6 July 1739 in the village of Herbstein, between Giessen and Fulda. He married there on 29 October 1761 to Maria Elisabetha Fleischer. She had been born there on 7 June 1740. They have one daughter born before they left Germany: Anna Maria Fridericka (born 21 August 1763 in Herbstein).
Christoph Trin, a farmer, his wife Maria Elisabeth, and daughter Anna Maria (age 4) arrived from Lübeck on 14 August 1766 aboard a 2-masted merchant ship named Die Jungfer Frederika (The Maiden Frederika) under the command of Skipper Hans Christian Korsholm.
Christop Drin [sic], his wife Maria Elisabeth, and daughter Magdalena (age 4) are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that daughter Magdalena died in route.
The parents arrived in Köhler on 10 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 Census in Household No. 3.
On the 1798 Census, they are recorded in Köhler in Household No. Kl20.
Sebastian Trin from Köhler and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Josefstal in Household No. 82.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Christoph Trin came from the German region of Fulda. The 1767 census records that Christoph Drin came from the German village of Herbstein in the Fulda region.
