Christoph Wentz, son of Jost Wentz, married on 5 February 1715 in Graben to Anna Catharina Klee, daughter of Hans Michael Klee.

The births of following children are recorded in the parish register of the Lutheran Church in Graben: (1) Johann Peter, born 14 November 1716, baptized 16 November 1716; (2) Johann Christoph, born 5 January 1718; (3) Eva Margaretha, born 14 February 1719; (4) Anna Catharina, born 13 April 1720; (5) Anna Barbara, born 19 December 1721, died 9 January 1722; (6) Anna Barbara, born 18 April 1723; died 19 May 1723; (7) Johann Martin, born 11 May 1724; (8) Georg Friedrich, born 1 June 1726; and (9) Maria Elisabetha, born 9 July 1729.

(1) Johann Peter Wentz married to Margaretha Kärger, and they had five children, the births of the last three recorded in the parish register of Graben: (1) Georg Heinrich, born in 1745; (2) Margaretha Dorothea, born in 1752; (3) Johann Heinrich, born & baptized 23 March 1756; died 11 April 1758; (4) Peter, born 13 February 1759; baptized 15 February 1759; died 23 March 1759; and (5) Philipp Heinrich, born 1 March 1760; baptized 2 March 1760.

Johann Peter Wentz and his family immigrated to Denmark (Schleswig-Holstein), departing from Altona (Duchy of Holstein) on 29 June 1761 under the leadership of Thomas Gabler. They arrived in the city of Schleswig (Duchy of Schleswig) on 4 July 1761. Johann Peter's wife died there 23 August 1762. The family immigrated to Russia in 1764.

The Wentz family arrived in the Volga German colony of Dobrinka on 15 April 1765. Johann Peter, a farmer, his [new] wife Christina, and children (Dorothea, age 13; Johannes, age 10) are recorded on 1767 census of Dobrinka in Household No. 05. His son Georg Wentz and his wife Christina are recorded on the same census in Household No. 35.

Georg Heinrich Wentz and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Dobrinka in Household No. Db32.

(2) Maria Elisabeth Wentz married 14 March 1755 in Graben to Johann Georg Ziegler. [See Ziegler Family.]

The 1767 census records that Peter Wentz and his son Georg came from the German village of Graben in the region of Durlach.
