History
Founded in 1893, Eigenfeld was called Colonia Nueva in the early days. The first settlers came from the villages of Salto and Spatzenkutter.
Volga German Congregations
Most of those in Eigenfeld are Roman Catholic. The church there is called Iglesia San Bernardo (St. Bernard Catholic Church).
